Having arrived thirty minutes prior to our reservation reserved on OpenTable.com, the hostess was happy to seat us at our private table that provided a view of the hustle and bustle of Mount Vernon locals. The ambiance was charming in the 19th century townhouse with its grand chandeliers. The menu selections were limited offering the chef time to concentrate on perfecting each dish. The wine list offers varieties from Italy, France and America. We selected an excellent California wine at the recommendation of our server. The meal began with the Artisan Cheese Plate, which offered three types of cheeses, two of which were strong and was served chilled. Both the filet of beef and lamb loin were superbly prepared pleasing our palettes. The Peanut Butter Dessert Tasting was a perfect ending to an overall marvelous meal. The only downside to the meal was service. We felt that our server could have been more influential with her recommendations of wine and entrees. Her opinion changed based on our likes and dislikes, and therefore, leaving an air of uncertainty.
